Toronto's best choice in craft beer and comfort food can be found in the casual, charming cellar of a historic building in the St. Lawrence Market area. Featuring the biggest selection of Canadian craft brews on tap, an all Ontario VQA wine list, art, indie music, board games, and pool tables, C’est What has true local flavour. As the city's original craft beer and wine restaurant C’est What has consistently preached from the book of local and since first opening it’s doors in 1988 and is a proud Canadian cultural ambassador. Founder George MIlbrandt says: “We believe that if it's worth doing, it's worth doing well. It is our passion for what we do that keeps us showing up for work every day. Well, that and the beer.”

One of my fav low key casual Hangouts in Toronto. Fireplace, sausage and cheese beer dip, board games and chill atmosphere. Actually though this is a gem. Staff have always been wicked friendly. This isn't the high pressure table Turner of a restaurant, this is a nice relaxing spot. Also, the live music? Can't be beat.

Always a great experience. You come in and are pretty much treated like you're part of the family by their attentive and intuitive staff. Would highly recommend for a simple night out with friends or a date. Great selection of drinks in a constant rotation, although consistently great flavour selection.

This place is deceptively large as it's in the basement level; it has a stage for live music, pool tables, couches around a fireplace, two bars with stools around them, and plenty of tables. I haven't been on a Friday or Saturday night, so it could be different then, but it's mostly a calm, well-lit, sophisticated causal atmosphere. If there is a live band playing, it's in the separate half on the west side so you can choose to watch the band or just sit on the quieter side. They are famous for their rotating craft beer selection on tap! The kitchen is open late, and they have one or two vegan options on the menu if you omit the dairy from the vegetarian dishes. The menu does change occasionally though, so hopefully they'll add more vegan stuff soon!Service is always great, professional, and fast.
